3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division trained and ready for upcoming deployment

The Department of the Army announced today the upcoming spring rotational deployment of the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, to Europe.
The 3rd CAB, stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia, will replace the 1st Armored Division Combat Aviation Brigade as part of a regular rotation of forces to support the United States’ commitment to Atlantic Resolve.

"When the nation calls, the Dogface Soldiers of the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade are ready to serve," said Col. Eric Vanek, commander of the 3rd CAB. "We've trained hard and I'm extremely confident in our ability to successfully complete any mission that comes our way. The 3rd CAB is composed of the world's finest aviators, and I couldn't be more proud of this incredible brigade, historic division, and community!"
The 3rd CAB last deployed in support of Atlantic Resolve in 2019. Since their return, the brigade has trained continuously to support future operations. After multiple field training exercises, aerial gunnery ranges, downed aircraft recovery operations and convoy protection platform gunneries, the unit has validated their training readiness at echelon to support the upcoming rotation.
Positioned in the heart of Savannah at Hunter Army Airfield, the 3rd CAB plays a critical role within the coastal community.

“We are deeply appreciative for the strong ties we hold with our Savannah and the coastal Georgia area community,” said Vanek. “We will continue to lean on their support to our Soldiers and families as we deploy in support of our nation’s defense objectives.”
