POSITION SUMMARY:

The Small Business Loan Officer is responsible for the origination and submission of small business loan products, to include SBA, USDA, SSBCI, City of Savannah, and SBAC Direct loans. The loan officer is responsible for generating new relationships throughout SBAC’s Southeast Georgia and South Carolina’s Lowcountry footprint.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and activities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Generate loan activity for potential loans ranging from $2,500 - $150,000.

• Network with bankers, government, community, and small business resources to develop and maintain referral relationships.

• Manage small business loan requests from origination to approval.

• Work with credit underwriters to review requests and qualify borrowers using SBAC’s lending criteria and policy guidelines.

• Prepare necessary forms to structure projects and issue to appropriate end users.

• Present qualified loan applicants to loan committee for review and approval.

• Generate loan activity reports for internal meetings with management.

• Maintain client files and provide adequate record keeping of all communications.

• Perform other duties necessary for the efficient operation of the Production Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in lending or sales

Experience in financial programs created to address small business needs

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Detail–oriented individual with the ability to work independently and with a team.

Commercial or SBA lending experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week) (Non-remote)

Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000/year plus benefits
